[edit] About
IvyLoL is a collegiate league for League of Legends in which current students can represent their schools and battle it out in season-style play, tournaments, and local LAN events.
It features a Premier and an Open League. In their Premiere league, the top teams from the top schools in North America compete where any number of teams from any college can participate. IvyLoL's Open League features any number of teams from any college which can participate in their season events. Division winners and other high-placing teams are invited to their league's final tournament, during which league champions are crowned.
Each season runs for an academic semester, with ten weeks of regular season play, a midseason tournament, and an end-of-season tournament. Over the summer, and sometimes during the year, IvyLoL holds tournaments open to teams not participating in the season, but most of matches and events occur during season play.
[edit] History
IvyLoL was founded during the summer of 2011 by Miles "Vesh" Miller as a post on the general board of League of Legends. Matthew "Chill" Albert, Bryan "Avendium" Burr, and Cody "BROSTATUS" Fulcher joined soon after to prepare the first website and run the first tournament. A beta season soon followed in the fall, and season 1 began in spring 2012 with the additions of Trey "Rawrsoar" Sweeney and Michael "Bobvader" Sherman. For season 2, IvyLoL teamed up with Texas eSports Association to host and organize Lone Star Clash 2, which featured four collegiate teams competing for cash prizes. Today, IvyLoL is home to more than 250 Universities across the United States and Canada.
