[edit] History
[edit] Formation of Team ALTERNATE
Team ALTERNATE began their venture into competitive League of Legends in July 25th, 2011, when they acquired Team Competo, consisting of Forellenlord, Fisch, unso, Lycades, destruct, CedeoCedeo, and Timson.
[edit] Season 1
In the following month, Team ALTERNATE would compete in the IEM Season VI - Global Challenge Cologne. Coming into the event, ALTERNATE was seeded into Group A where they would place third, going 1-2 by defeating MyRevenge, while falling to Team SoloMid and Millenium. Due to being unable to place first and second, Team ALTERNATE would not qualify for the playoffs, coming home with a 5th-6th place finish.
[edit] Pre-Season 2
At the ESL Pro Series Germany Winter 2011, Team ALTERNATE would have a great showing, placing first in the tournament. Put into Group A, ALTERNATE would place second by defeating Logix and Evoplay, while falling to Team Acer. ALTERNATE would have a strong showing in the playoffs, defeating mTw.EU 2-1 in the quarterfinals and Peculiar 2-0 in the semifinals. In the grand finals, ALTERNATE would take out Team Acer 2-0 to take first place at the event.
[edit] Season 2
Due to visa issues, Invictus Gaming was unable to attend the IEM Season VI - World Championship. Due to Team ALTERNATE's placing on the rankings, they were invited to replace IG. ALTERNATE was seeded into Group A where they would place fourth. Team ALTERNATE came out victorious over FnaticRC and Millenium, while losing to Dignitas, Counter Logic Gaming Prime, and against All authority. As they were unable to place in the top 3 of their group, Team ALTERNATE was eliminated after the group stage, taking home a 7th-8th place finish.
On August 18th, Team ALTERNATE participated in the Season Two European Regional Finals. They were knocked out in the first round by CLG EU, finishing in 5th-8th place.
Team ALTERNATE disbanded shortly after the European Regionals. However, on September 24th, the addition of a new roster was announced as Team Eloblade officially came under the Team ALTERNATE organization. Two former players, ForellenLord and Leofromkorea, rejoined through this transfer.
[edit] Season 3
After qualifying for the European LCS Season 3 Spring Qualifiers, Alternate would fall 1-2 to GIANTS! Gaming and Fnatic in the group stage, consequently unable to qualify for the Spring LCS Season. After a period of amateur tournaments, however, Alternate would qualify for the Season 3 Summer Split in the Lille Road Trip event by taking second place, losing only to Meet Your Makers. At the European LCS Summer Promotion Qualifiers, Alternate would take out Wizards e-Sports Club 2-1, then defeat GIANTS! Gaming 3-2 in a best of five series to determine who would be in the Summer LCS Season.
