Cloud 9 is a North American League of Legends team formed by the roster of Quantic Gaming after the dissolution of the Quantic Gaming orgnaization.

History

Pre-Season 3

During the off-season, Quantic Gaming as an organization would fall into financial distress and shut down operations, leaving the League of Legends team without a sponsor once again. Competing under the name "Team NomNom" and then Cloud 9, Nientonsoh, Hai, Yazuki, Wild Turtle and LemonNation would secure a spot in the Season 3 North American Offline Qualifier for the League of Legends Championship Series. However, Cloud 9 would be knocked out of the tournament in the group stage after losing to Team MRN and Azure Gaming.

Initially, Nientonsoh said that Cloud9 would disband in light of the loss. The team later decided to stay together, although Nientonsoh and Yazuki would leave the team and a massive roster swap would ensue. Hai shifted from jungle to mid, and new junglers and top laners were actively being tried out in online competitions.

Timeline

2012

• December 4th, Quantic Gaming releases Nientonsoh, Hai, LemonNation, WildTurtle, and Yazuki. The roster forms Team NomNom.

• December 16th, 2nd place in SoloMid Series - Finals.

2013

• January 8th, Team NomNom renames to Cloud 9.
• January 13th, Nientonsoh and Yazuki leave.
• March 1st, TrickZ leaves.
• March 25th,WildTurtle leaves.
• April 1st, Cloud 9 roster is picked up by Quantic Gaming. Hai, LemonNation, Meteos, and Balls leave.
